2. Information we collect

We collect information in exactly two ways:

• Information you send us directly. If you email, call, WhatsApp or message us through the Contact page — for example, to report an outdated fee or ask a question — we receive whatever you include in that message: typically your name, contact details, and the content of your message.
• Information stored locally in your browser. Features like the light/dark theme toggle and the Compare tool's shortlist save small pieces of data using your browser's localStorage. This data stays on your device and is never transmitted to us — see the section below for detail.

We do not ask visitors to sign up, log in, or provide payment details anywhere on the site. We do not currently use cookies, analytics scripts (such as Google Analytics), or advertising trackers of any kind — if that changes, this policy will be updated first.

3. How we use it

Any information you send us directly is used only to:

• Reply to your question, correction report, or enquiry.
• Investigate and fix an outdated fee, deadline or eligibility figure you've flagged.
• Keep a record of corrections so the same error doesn't resurface later.

We do not sell, rent, or use your contact details for marketing you haven't asked for.

4. Cookies & local storage

Pak Uni Guide does not set tracking cookies. It uses your browser's localStorage — a standard browser feature, not a cookie — for two things only:

• Theme preference — remembering whether you chose light or dark mode.
• Compare shortlist — remembering which programs you've added to the Compare tool between visits.

Both live only in your browser on your device. We have no access to them, they are never sent to our servers, and they disappear if you clear your browser's site data. You can use the site fully with this storage disabled, though your theme choice and shortlist won't persist between visits.

5. Third-party links & services

Nearly every fee, deadline and eligibility figure on Pak Uni Guide links out to the official university page it came from, and our Contact and Footer link to social platforms like Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, Telegram, YouTube, TikTok and LinkedIn. Once you leave Pak Uni Guide for one of those sites, that site's own privacy policy applies — we don't control, and aren't responsible for, how third parties handle information once you're on their pages. We'd encourage you to review the privacy policy of any university or platform site before submitting personal information there.

6. Data sharing & disclosure

We do not share, sell or trade any information you send us with third parties. The only exception would be if disclosure were required by law — for example, in response to a valid legal request from a Pakistani court or authority — in which case we would disclose only what's legally compelled.

7. Children's privacy

Pak Uni Guide is intended for prospective university students, typically 16 and older, and their parents or guardians. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we'll remove it.

8. Data security

Because we collect so little, there's little to secure — but we take reasonable, standard precautions with the messages you do send us (for instance, not forwarding them to unrelated third parties). No method of transmission over the internet or email is 100% secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security for anything you send us, and we'd suggest not including sensitive information like ID numbers or financial details in a general enquiry.

9. Your rights & choices

You can, at any time:

• Ask us what information we hold about you and request a copy of it.
• Ask us to correct or delete any information you've previously sent us.
• Clear your browser's local storage to remove your theme preference and Compare shortlist.
• Use the entire site without ever contacting us or enabling local storage.

10. Changes to this policy

If Pak Uni Guide ever starts using cookies, analytics or advertising, or otherwise changes what information it collects, this page will be updated and the "Last updated" date above will change. We'd encourage checking back occasionally, particularly before sending us any personal information.
